Breitling has long been a purveyor of chronographs to pilots, but in the 1950's, the popularity of dive watches like the Rolex Submariner and Blancpain Fifty Fathoms pushed the brand to enter the sub-aquatic race.

In 1957, Breitling released both a time-only dive watch, the SuperOcean Reference 1004, and a diver's chronograph in the form of the Reference 807. These watches would be the start of a long-lasting and ever-evolving line of nautical watches loved by many.

The watch that you're looking at here, a SuperOcean Heritage B20 Automatic 42, is Breitling's contemporary take on the SuperOcean model that started it all. Housed in a 42mm stainless steel case with a ceramic timing bezel insert, it features a sapphire crystal, a signed crown, a luminous sunburst black dial with applied indices, a date window at 6 o'clock, 'sword' hands, and a steel mesh bracelet with a fold-over clasp. Powered by the automatic Calibre B20 movement, this piece also comes with its factory goodies.
